Civil Disobedience
Thoreau explains the moral need for
civil disobedience is by stating that one person's principle should not be
undermined by the government orders. The citizens must act on what they
think is right; not by foolishly following the government orders.
Thoreau also mentions about the citizens use of their bodies, their
heads, and their consciences to serve the government. He describes that
the best way to serve the government is by using the conscience, not the
body or the head. Not to mention, he compares the citizens who follow
the government orders to be mindless and soulless machines, as if they do not have a mind of their own. All in all,
Thoreau ideals of a government is a government that does not intervene
into the citizens' problems, which is a government that does best when it
does not govern at all.

Conformity and Individualism
This is the assignment that Ms. Mariam asked us to do:
From the beginning of the internet's early years, people have been calling it an invention that can bring society to a whole new level. And it did actually. It's a place where information and entertainment is abundant. But it has come to the point where the net today is considered "bad" for society. Because of the rapid user growth, people have come to enjoy the internet life more than the real life just because its considered "cool" at the moment. It is true that the internet can be fun and exciting but everything has a limit. Compared to the past, these kinds of things would have been considered as something wrong but everything is tolerated today just because everybody is doing it. Another factor is the concept of University. University is a place where you can extend your education after you graduate from school. It's a place where you are, for the most part, guaranteed to get a job after you are done with your university life. Well that's true; if you're lucky. A lot of youngsters these days are attending to university just because other youngsters are doing it. This happens because people today have plunged the idea that if you go and graduate from a university, you are guaranteed for a successful life. If you don't follow this path, then you are bound to fail in life. That's not true at all. Getting into a university doesn't mean that successful is on their way to you. Nothing is guaranteed in life and anything can happen in just a blink of an eye.
